The term Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive despite regular and unprotected intercourse for 1 year. At Our Center Couples should be aware that 80% will conceive within a year and 90% within two years if they do not use contraception and have regular intercourse. Although infertility by itself may not threaten physical health, it does have a serious impact on the mental and social well being of affected couples. Our Fertility Center will help your dream come alive. “Intrauterine insemination” (IUI) simply means putting sperm into the uterus. We give the simplest kind of treatment solution for couples having trouble conceiving. As it is so simple and easy, doctors may recommend that you try IUI before you consider any other treatment. IUI is carried out at the IVF unit and is usually performed in conjunction with ovulation induction. A doctor at the Unit will prescribe drugs to stimulate you to ovulate on a particular day, after carefully calculating the dose that is right for you. You will need two different types of drug. Firstly, you will need a drug that tells the immature eggs in your ovaries to start growing and developing. The drugs that do this mimic the action of a hormone that occurs naturally in the body. This hormone is called “follicle stimulating hormone” (FSH). FSH tells the immature eggs in your ovaries to grow. These immature eggs grow inside a bubble of fluid, known as a “follicle.” You will be given regular ultrasound scans whilst you are receiving these drugs. These scans will measure the size and number of your growing follicles, to decide when you are ready to ovulate. When one follicle reaches the right size, you will be given another hormone injection. This hormone will stimulate the release of the egg from the follicle (ovulation) at a predictable time so we can perform the IUI at the optimal time for sperm and egg to meet and hopefully fertilities.
Family planning / contraception reduces the need for abortion, especially unsafe abortion. Family planning reinforces people's rights to determine the number and spacing of their children. By preventing unintended pregnancy, family planning /contraception prevents deaths of mothers and children.
Endoscopy is a way of looking inside the body. Endoscopy is often done with a tube put into the body that the doctor can use to look inside. Another way to look inside is to put a camera in a capsule (capsule endoscopy). This capsule includes one or two tiny cameras, a light bulb, a battery, and a radio transmitter. It is about the size of a large vitamin pill. The person swallows the capsule, and it takes pictures all the way through the digestive (gastrointestinal) tract. The radio transmitter sends the photos to a recorder the person wears on their waist or shoulder. A technician downloads the photos from the recorder to a computer, and the doctor looks at them. The camera comes out and is flushed down the toilet safely. . How the Test is Performed This test can be started in the doctor’s office. The capsule is the size of a large vitamin pill, about an inch (2.5 centimeters) long and less than ½ inch (1.3 centimeters) wide. Each capsule is used only once. The health care provider may ask you to lie down or sit up while swallowing the capsule. Capsule endoscope will have a slippery coating, so it is easier to swallow. The capsule is not digested or absorbed. It travels through the digestive system following the same path food travels. It leaves the body in a bowel movement and can be flushed down the toilet without harming the plumbing. The recorder will be placed on your waist or shoulder. Sometimes a few antenna patches may also be put on your body. During the test, the small light on a recorder will blink. If it stops blinking, call your provider. The capsule may be in your body for several hours or several days. Everyone is different. Most of the time, the capsule leaves the body within 24 hours. Flush the capsule down the toilet. If you do not see the capsule in the toilet within two weeks of swallowing it, tell your provider. You may need an x-ray to see if the capsule is still in your body.
Argon plasma coagulation (APC) is a thermoablative technique increasingly being used in endoscopy. Since its introduction, the flexible APC probe has been employed by endoscopists throughout the world. APC has helped change the endoscopic management of many gastrointestinal (GI) diseases, including hemorrhagic proctitis, watermelon stomach, bleeding peptic ulcer, and colonic varices. Endoscopists and surgeons are creatively combining standard and new electrosurgical techniques with APC. For instance, APC used in combination with piecemeal polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection, balloon dilatation for structures, and plasma welding of bleeding vessels after sclerotherapy injection are among the recent innovative techniques reported. Other emerging innovations using APC that are being considered include endoscopic and block resection of mucosal and submucosal tumors of the GI tract, endoscopic mucosal resection supplemented with APC for high-grade dysplasia and early GI cancers, endoscopic repair of anastomotic strictures, and welding GI fistula tracts. As such, endoscopists require more efficient and cost-effective multifunctional thermoablative probes. This review discusses the development and the potential application of dual-mode plasma endoscopic probes in fulfilling these emerging needs.
